A few years ago I (Wesley) had the opportunity to learn about the importance of finding the purpose and vision God has for our families. This is the vision we feel the Lord has given our family. We definitely haven't "arrived" or come close to obtaining this, but we try to make this the "filter" we run all of our family's decisions through.
Family Verse:
II Corinthians 5:17-21
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Vision
To fully embrace God’s gift of reconciliation and passionately share that gift with others.
Mission
Submit to the Lordship of Christ and reconcile others to Christ by being His ambassadors to the world.

Then the righteous will answer Him, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You something to drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or without clothes and clothe You? When did we see You sick, or in prison, and visit You?' And the King will answer them, 'I assure you: Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.' " Matthew 25:35-40
